World History
World History is broken into two semester courses: Medieval World and Modern World. Both are primarily taught to 9th graders and are required for graduation from FHS. Medieval World covers the general time frame of 500-1500 and Modern World picks up at 1500-1900.
World History Credit Recovery
Credit Recovery World History courses have been offered for both semesters (Medieval and Modern). The course is developed for At-Risk Students who do not pass World History the first time, although some of the students have failed general World History several times.
American History
American History is also a required course for graduation and taught primarily to 10th graders. This course starts during the US Industrial Revolution and comes to modern day.
Government
Government is a required course for graduation and taught primarily to 11th graders. This course explores the roles, responsibilities, and history of the governments around the world, with a focus on American Government.
Contemporary Problems
Contemporary Problems is an elective course for 11th and 12th graders. Students run the entire course, from selecting the topics, building the grading rubrics, and holding each other accountable. This makes the course fun and unique for each group.
